Katarzyna Baldyga (b. 1988, Poland) grew up in the rural-industrial region of

Silesia. She studied law in Wrocław and worked at the Prosecutor’s Office

before turning to art. She later studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in

Amsterdam and the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden. She lives and

works in Amsterdam and will join the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten

as a resident in 2027.

Her work has been presented at Art Rotterdam and Amsterdam Art Week,

among others. Her work is held in the collections of Museum Voorlinden and

the Collectie Rijksoverheid. In 2024, she received the Ron Mandos Young

Blood Award.
